OUR CONVERSION - I was born in Beckley, West Virginia, December 16, 1933 and was saved on May 2, 1949, during a city wide evangelistic meeting by Evangelist Eddie Martin. Cathy, my wife was born in Marshall, Texas, September 10, 1932, and was saved in February, 1951, in Marshall, Texas, in the small country church named Grange Hall Baptist Church, where a young Bible College student named Jack Hyles was pastor. OUR STUDIES - I attended Bob Jones High School Academy and University, and then transferred to Tennessee Temple Bible School and College. Cathy, my wife received her Bible school training at Tennessee Temple Bible School. MY CALL FOR MISSIONS – At Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after a message by Dr. Bob Pierce, I surrendered with unconditional surrender to God’s call to missions. OUR UNION FOR MISSIONS – While attending Tennessee Temple schools, I met a beautiful and godly student, Cathryn (Cathy) Ross. We fell in love and were engaged. On January 22, 1956, we were united in marriage by Dr. Ben Byrd, one of our Bible school professors. God blessed us with three daughters by birth and another one by adoption. OUR CALL TO BOLIVIA – During the 1955 mission conference at Highland Park Baptist Church, God used His special servant Missionary Hudson Shedd from Bolivia to point Cathy and me towards Bolivia. We established Tabernacle Baptist Church Mission and also another former mission. We pioneered villages with the Gospel by 4-wheel drive, by horse back and air planes. We won souls, started churches and trained others to go out from our churches into evangelism and church planting. OUR PRESENT MINISTRY IN BOLIVIA – For many years I was founder and president of the mission in Bolivia. Missionary Adalid Pardo is now the president. E-mail and telephone communication is ever frequent with our Bolivian field, helping the president, helping other Bolivian and foreign missionaries and helping the pastors in whatever way possible. We seek to help provide literature, Bibles, equipment for their ministry and evangelism, with support any way possible. From our Bolivian and Texas international offices we assist other good Baptist Missions and local churches with getting their missionaries into Bolivia under our guaranty for legal recognition by the Bolivian government. OUR INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES - {1} - From our international base and office in Texas, my wife Cathy and I are 24/7 available to help in what ever way necessary the American and National missionaries in Argentina, Australia, Ghana, West Africa, Bolivia, South America, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico, Nepal, Paraguay and the U.
