What you or I may think leads to salvation or a proper relationship with God has nothing to do with what He has designed. We cannot change the way God has designed salvation no more than we can change gravity by any grand notions we may have. The Bible is the source for information on this subject. There is no room for opinion on this subject. The following is the plan of salvation God has laid out for man. If you have further questions regarding this plan please contact us and let us help you with those questions.
God Loves You And Has A Plan for Your Life
The fact God loves mankind is revealed in the special relationship God had with Adam in the Garden of Eden. Adam's action in breaking covenant with God broke that relationship. Rather than destroy man, God chose to love him and initiate a plan which would eventually lead to a methodology by which that broken relationship could be restored. God loves you and does indeed have a plan for your life. He wants to give you the gift of everlasting life and a personal relationship with Him just like He had with Adam in the beginning. There is only one thing that prevents you from receiving this free gift He offers... You are a sinner and cannot receive such a gift from God.
Each and every one of us is born a sinner. Have you ever noticed that a baby must be taught how to be honest, truthful, and polite? He is born rude, self-centered, and even malicious. This is the nature of man. We are born in this state as a result of Adam's sin. As such, we are unfit to have that special relationship with God which He offers. The Bible says...
The "death" this verse speaks of is eternal separation from God in hell. Thankfully, the story does not end there. God became a man and took our punishment upon himself.
God chose to not leave man in the hopeless state in which he is born. He chose to create a way through which we could be made right with Him. Jesus was God in human form. He lived a perfect life, died a sacrificial death, and rose again to create a way for you and I to have a relationship with Him. He has done so much. Here is what you must do. Accept the Free Gift of God!!!
To accept the gift of God you must...
Admit You are a Sinner
This means to admit to God that not only have you committed sins, but that you have been born with a sinful, depraved nature. We must admit this condition to God and repent (turn away from) of this way of living. By admitting we are sinners we begin the process of leaving behind our old lifestyle and begin seeking a new one in Christ.
Believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and in His ability to save you.
When the Bible speaks of believing in Jesus it means to "trust in Him", not just believe the facts about Him are true. You may believe an airplane can fly you across the ocean. It is a different thing to trust it to do so and take such a flight. To receive God's free gift we must trust that Jesus can indeed save us.
Confess Jesus as your Lord.
The act of confessing Jesus as Lord goes beyond standing before a group of people and publicly stating you have become a Christian. Confessing Jesus as Lord means you give Him total control in your life. You cease to be in the driver's seat of your life. God is not your co-pilot. He has become your pilot. The Bible assures us ...
If you have prayed to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then the Unity Baptist Church would like to help you get started in your new life as a Christian. Please contact ustoday and let us discuss further the work Christ has done in your heart. |
